Dr.Notaro is researching a book provisionally entitled Just Imagine: Visions of the Future in the American Metropolis, 1890s-1930s. Areas of research include cultural history of imperialism, production and representation of urban landscapes, social and cultural history with an emphasis on questions of national identity.
